2009 Fall SprintsFINAL RESULTShere
2009 Fall Sprints HEAT SHEETS areHERE
Welcome to the annual New Canaan Fall Sprints. This Regatta is intended to promote the development of competitive rowing among the scholastic and high school club programs active in this area. The regatta consists of head-style racing along a 1200 m course, in a series of four flights. This year we have over 350 rowers competing from 8 programs and it promises to be a fun and challenging day!
There are more JV and Novice events this year, and the four flights are arranged so that rowers should be able to compete in more than one event. Novice events can be comprised only of first year rowers. At the coaches’ discretion, Novices may row in JV events. The fourth flight is comprised of mixed events and must have equal numbers of men and women in them. First place medals will be awarded for all events at an awards ceremony following the final flight of racing.

PARKING & SPECTATOR VIEWING:
Visiting crews (cars and trailers) will park in Veterans Memorial Park on Washington Street. This will be the rigging area and it is immediately adjacent to the launch area. Regatta staff will help direct you to the proper area.
Additional parking, closer to the food tent and spectator viewing areas, is at the north end of the Maritime Aquarium parking lot which opens at 7 AM. This area is immediately adjacent to the river and there is a pedestrian walkway that runs north from the Aquarium to the I-95 Bridge. This is an excellent viewing area that provides a full view of the last 800 meters of the race and the finish line.
RESTROOMS:
Portable toilets are available in Veteran’s Park. Restrooms near the entrance in the Maritime Aquarium will be available to our guests after 10 AM.
AWARDS CEREMONY:
All crews and their guests are invited to attend a reception at Veterans Park immediately following the last event. Medals will be awarded after the completion and timing of the final flight, within 30 minutes after the last boat crosses the finish line.
WAIVERS:
As a US Rowing registered regatta, the USRowing waiver is required. Coaches are responsible for ensuring that they have signed waivers for all rowers from their schools/clubs. Athletes must sign the waiver ONLINE using your program's USRowing Roster Code, or sign a copy of the US Rowing waiver. No rower will be allowed on the water without a signed waiver. No exceptions.
There is more information in the 2009 Regatta Notice which is under the "Documents" tab on the home page. A Course Map and the Waiver Formsare also under the "Documents" tab.
